Agapé Valley Bible Camp
Is Summer Camp 2021 going ahead?
(Updated July 19, 2021)
The Board of Niagara Shorthills Christian Ministries has a plan this summer to run day camp at Agapé with reduced weeks and camper numbers.
Camp Registration starts June 16, 2021 at 6:00am. We will be accepting online registrations only at this time.
We will be following the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health. A full COVID 19 Safety Plan is posted on the main webpage
- Children are required to wear a mask indoors at camp except when eating or drinking. Masks will not be required for outdoor activities when campers are with their cohorts.
- Exceptions will be granted if children cannot tolerate a mask for medical reasons and an exemption form will need to be filled out.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for providing their child(ren) with a non-medical mask(s) or face covering each day, and children will require a way to store their mask when not in use.
We are planning to run 2 cohorts of 20 children per week. These cohorts will be separated in their own areas throughout the day with no interaction between cohorts. Staff for these cohorts will be required to give their full undivided attention to their assigned groups throughout the entire time at camp. They too will not be able to intermingle with other cohorts. All staff will be required to follow Agapé’s Covid Policy. The Board has also decided that due to the protocols and responsibilities that will be needed to safely run camp, each cohort will require a responsible leader 18 years or older and assistant leadership will be age 16 and older. This summer there will be not staff under the age of 16. This was not an easy decision as we know in the past this age group under 16 has been the backbone to running camp week to week. We feel under the circumstances experienced staff would be best suited to run camp this summer.
The weeks that camp will be operating are as follows:
You will notice that camp is every other week in order to give a break to staff. Repeat staff would be preferred as this would help with training and being familiar with set protocols.
We are excited about running camp this year and our prayer is that you would feel the same and be able volunteer for a week or more.
